LASEMA Responds to Fire and Tanker Incidents in Lagos

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) responded to a fire outbreak and recovered two broken-down tankers along the Mushin-Ilasa-Oshodi corridor. Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, reported that the first incident occurred at No. 5 Balogun Street, Ilasa, at 1:05pm, where a fire caused by a power surge engulfed three rooms in a bungalow.
The LASEMA Response Unit Fire Unit and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service worked together to extinguish the fire, preventing its spread and recording no casualties. The second incident involved a broken-down tanker carrying black oil at Mushin Bus Stop at 1:49pm, which obstructed traffic.
The Eagle Team diverted traffic while awaiting recovery equipment. The tanker was successfully removed, restoring vehicular movement.
A third empty tanker broke down at Ojuwoye Bus Stop at 4:41pm, and LASEMA, alongside the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and Nigeria Police Force, managed traffic and facilitated recovery operations. No casualties were reported in any of the incidents.
