LASEMA Resolves Container Truck Obstruction in Lagos

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) successfully cleared a truck carrying two 20-foot containers that had tilted and obstructed about 80% of the roadway at National-Ashade, Lagos. This incident occurred at approximately 11:21 PM on Sunday when the MACK truck broke down while attempting to make a U-turn due to a tyre burst.

Following the report, LASEMA's Eagle Response Team, led by Permanent Secretary Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, was activated and arrived at the scene to find the truck laden with containers. The agency implemented traffic diversion measures and secured the area to prevent further incidents while awaiting heavy-duty equipment.

With the assistance of a private crane and two forklifts, the containers were recovered and placed on LASEMA's lowbed, while the MACK truck was towed to the LASTMA yard at Oshodi. The road has since been cleared and reopened for vehicular movement, with no reported injuries or loss of life.
