Lagos State and Agege LG Collaborate on Urban Renewal

The Lagos State Government and Agege Local Government have partnered to initiate urban renewal projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and promoting environmental sustainability. During a courtesy visit by Ganiyu Obasa, Chairman of Agege Local Government, to Adetunji Adeyemi, Permanent Secretary of the Office of Urban Development, strategies were explored to strengthen coordination between state and local government urban regeneration projects.

Obasa briefed officials on ongoing grassroots projects, including the construction of community markets and infrastructure improvements on several streets. The collaboration aims to ensure proper integration of projects within the state's broader urban planning agenda, focusing on drainage systems and road networks.

A joint technical inspection of project sites was proposed to assess construction progress and identify areas requiring intervention. Adeyemi commended the proactive leadership of the local government in addressing infrastructure challenges and emphasized the importance of sustainable collaboration to deliver coordinated urban renewal projects.
