Lagos Assembly to Inspect Ongoing Projects from June 2026

The Lagos State House of Assembly's Committee on Local Government, Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development, chaired by Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde, will initiate a comprehensive inspection of ongoing projects within local government areas (LGAs) and local council development areas (LCDAs) beginning Monday, June 22, 2026.

This exercise is part of the committee's oversight duties to ensure accountability and transparency in service delivery at the grassroots level. The inspection tour aims to assess the implementation and completion of various projects, including road construction, drainage rehabilitation, healthcare facilities, educational projects, and community development initiatives.

The committee emphasizes that this oversight exercise is not intended as a witch hunt against council administrations but rather to promote good governance and strengthen institutional accountability. The inspection will cover all 57 local government areas and LCDAs in Lagos State, ensuring that public funds allocated for development projects are utilized judiciously.
