EU Ambassador Praises Lagos for Sustainable Transport Project with $110M EU Support

The European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Gautier Mignot, lauded Lagos State's initiative to revamp its water transport system, aiming to become a sustainable transport model in Africa. The EU's commitment aligns with its global gateway strategy, focusing on infrastructure investments to address climate challenges and boost economic growth.

The project, known as "Mi K," received substantial support from the European Investment Bank (EIB), with a total contribution of $110 million. This initiative is part of the broader Global Gateway investment strategy, emphasizing sustainable infrastructure development across Africa, particularly in the West Africa-Lagos corridor to enhance regional trade and integration.
