Mr. Ibu's Family Receives ₦7.5 Million in Donations

The family of late comic actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has received ₦7.5 million in donations after a public appeal for assistance due to their poor living conditions.

The appeal was shared by content creator King Mitchi on Instagram, where she posted a video showing Mr. Ibu's widow and children pleading for help.

King Mitchi expressed gratitude to everyone who donated, stating that the funds would be used to pay for the children's school fees, including the eldest daughter's West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) fees, and to settle the family's unpaid rent. She advised the widow to relocate to more affordable accommodation.

The family had been living without electricity for two months and was struggling to fetch water, with the children unable to attend school due to unpaid fees. Mr.

Ibu passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62 after battling illness.
