The family of late Nollywood comic legend John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, is experiencing significant financial hardship following his death on March 2, 2024.

His children are unable to continue their education due to unpaid school fees, prompting concern among fans. During a recent visit by content creator King Mitchi, family members revealed the increasing challenges they face, including living without electricity for several weeks due to unpaid bills.

Mr. Ibu's widow explained that the family struggles to meet basic needs, relying on local water sources and facing difficulties in affording utilities.

She expressed the emotional toll on the children, who are grappling with the loss of their father and the financial uncertainty that followed. The family has received communication from the children's school regarding outstanding tuition fees, further highlighting their worsening financial situation.

Mr. Ibu, who was a prominent figure in Nollywood, passed away after battling serious health challenges, including multiple surgeries and complications.
