Ahmad Lawan Secures APC Ticket for Eighth Senate Term

Ahmad Lawan has emerged as the consensus candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Yobe North senatorial district, securing the party's ticket for an eighth term in the Senate ahead of the 2027 general elections. His emergence followed consultations among APC leaders and stakeholders in the senatorial district, culminating in an endorsement described as a successful screening exercise conducted on Monday.

Lawan, who has represented Yobe North in the National Assembly since 1999, expressed gratitude to the APC leadership at both national and state levels, including Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Geidam, for their support during the process. He emphasized the unity within the party and outlined his vision for the district, focusing on expanding educational opportunities, infrastructure development, and economic growth.

Lawan pledged to run an issue-based campaign and assured party members of his continued loyalty to the APC.
