Yobe APC Adopts Consensus for 2027 Primaries

The Yobe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially adopted a consensus mode for its 2027 primaries, specifically endorsing Ahmad Lawan for the Senate seat representing Yobe North. This decision was announced at the end of a stakeholders' meeting held in Damaturu on Thursday.

The consensus approach will also apply to governorship and national assembly primaries, in accordance with the Electoral Act, which specifies two modes: consensus and direct primaries. The party's previous experiences with consensus have been positive, leading to the emergence of candidates who received substantial party support.

Stakeholders pledged to deliver 3.5 million votes for Bola Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election. Additionally, during the meeting, Governor Mai Mala Buni highlighted the benefits of various federal projects and programs under President Bola Tinubu's administration, emphasizing the party's commitment to supporting Tinubu's second term.
