Lawan Raises ₦188m for Yobe Governorship Bid

Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, a former Senate President, thanked his supporters for raising approximately ₦188 million to support his governorship bid for the APC nomination in the 2027 Yobe State elections. The fundraising event took place on Sunday in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, and was organized by the Coalition Yobe East Progress Youth, led by Dr.

Moham Goni Yerima. Lawan commended the group for their demonstration of civic responsibility and grassroots political participation.

The fundraising drive included a significant number of small contributions ranging from ₦100 to ₦3,000, made by various individuals, including widows, mechanics, apprentices, traders, and students, highlighting true grassroots engagement and community ownership. Lawan emphasized that the funds raised represent an investment in a shared vision for the people of Yobe State and expressed his desire to serve them.

He urged continued support and prayers for the success of the fundraising initiative, which is seen as a significant boost to his governorship aspirations.
