LAWMA Employs Over 100,000 Youths for Waste Management

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), led by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, has employed over 100,000 youths, both directly and indirectly, across its operational value chain.

This announcement was made on a Tuesday following a meeting with a leadership group led by Adam Kehinde Remilekun Oshodi at LAWMA's headquarters in Ijora Olopa. The agency is collaborating with the Eko 57 Support Group to mobilize young people throughout Lagos State, promoting environmental cleanliness and responsible waste management practices at the grassroots level.

Gbadegesin emphasized the strategic role of youth in enhancing environmental awareness and influencing positive behavior change within communities. He noted that LAWMA is committed to ensuring clean cities and is working closely with community leaders and development associations to strengthen grassroots engagement and address service-related concerns, encouraging compliance with waste management guidelines.
