LAWMA Highlights Coordination for Sanitation Success in Lagos

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), led by Director Muyiwa Gbadegesin, has highlighted the critical role of inter-agency coordination and planning in achieving sanitation success across Lagos State. Gbadegesin noted that effective collaboration among LAWMA's team, private sector participants, and local government enforcement agencies is essential for comprehensive waste management.

The operational plan includes strategic deployment of trucks, equipment, and personnel to facilitate efficient waste disposal. Gbadegesin emphasized the importance of ongoing public sensitization campaigns to boost compliance and engage community leaders in grassroots participation.

He addressed concerns regarding waste evacuation processes, clarifying that while the volume of waste generated during operations is significant, the evacuation is systematic and not instantaneous. LAWMA continues to monitor interventions and reaffirm its commitment to sustainable sanitation practices, urging residents to adhere to proper waste disposal methods.
