LAWMA to Conduct Comprehensive Safety Audit in Lagos

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) is set to conduct a comprehensive safety audit of its operational facilities throughout Lagos State. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen workplace safety, improve operational standards, and enhance service delivery.

Mukaila Sanusi, the Director of Public Affairs at LAWMA, announced the plan, which was disclosed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, during an inspection tour of the transfer load station at Simpson, Lagos Island.

The audit aims to identify operational safety gaps and reinforce compliance measures to ensure that LAWMA facilities operate in line with global best practices. Dr.

Gbadegesin emphasized that employee welfare and a safe operational environment remain central to LAWMA's mandate. He also urged operational staff to maintain strict adherence to established safety protocols and guidelines.

This safety audit is part of a broader effort to modernize LAWMA's infrastructure and meet the growing sanitation demands in Lagos.
