LAWMA Enforces Zero Tolerance on Illegal Waste in Lagos

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has declared a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal waste activities and is maintaining enforcement operations across major parts of Lagos. This announcement was made via the Lagos State Government's former Twitter page on Tuesday, March 22, 2026.

LAWMA's enforcement operations are particularly focused on areas such as Ketu and Alaper, where teams are actively monitoring and investigating waste disposal practices. During these operations, unauthorized waste disposal methods, including the use of wheelbarrows for illegal waste collection, have been targeted for confiscation.

Additionally, LAWMA is reinforcing its commitment to a cleaner and healthier Lagos by maintaining vigilance across previously identified black spots along Ikorodu Road and other locations. Compliance with waste management regulations remains mandatory as part of LAWMA's ongoing sanitation efforts.
