LAWMA Revokes Licenses of Six Waste Operators for Poor Service

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has withdrawn the operating licenses of six private waste collection operators due to their failure to meet required service standards. This decision was disclosed by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a statement posted on X. The affected operators include K-HS Integrated Services, Deshasat Enterprises, Bailas Nigeria Company, Guestimate Environmental Protection Company, Evabol Ventures, and Korad Closet Empire Limited.
K-HS Integrated Services voluntarily withdrew from its service area, while the other five operators had their licenses terminated following regulatory assessments. The service locations impacted include various wards in Igbogbo-Baiyeku, Olorunda, Ojo, Orile Agege, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, and Ojodu.
LAWMA is also distributing 100 recycling bins to households in Osborne Foreshore Phase I and promoting community-led clean-ups. Wahab stated that the state government would enhance regulatory oversight and ensure that operators have the necessary capacity to provide reliable services.
