Senator Katung Launches Free Hepatitis B Vaccination in Kaduna

Senator Sundai Marshal Katung, representing the Kaduna South Senatorial District, launched a free hepatitis B vaccination program for his constituents from July 6 to July 8, 2023. The first phase of the program took place in various local government areas, including Zangon Kataf, Kaura, Jema'a, and Jaba, with vaccination centers located in Zonkwa, Zango Urban, Manchok, Kagoro, Kwoi, Daddu, and Gidan Waya.

Midat Joseph, a special adviser on media communication to the senator, stated that the initiative is part of efforts to reduce the burden of hepatitis B across the district and aims to save lives and protect families. The second phase of the vaccination exercise is scheduled to commence on July 13, covering Sanga, Kagarko, Kachia, and Kauru local government areas.

The program encourages eligible residents to undergo screening and vaccination to prevent hepatitis B infections. Rebecca Danjuma, a participant, expressed her gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing its importance for community health.
