Lawmaker Condemns Brutalisation Of Bus Driver By FRSC Officials

Lawmaker Chinedu Oga, representing South federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has strongly condemned the brutalization of a commercial bus driver by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The incident, captured in a viral video on social media, showed the bus driver being stripped and assaulted in the presence of passengers.

Oga described the act as barbaric and unlawful, emphasizing that the FRSC Establishment Act of 2007 does not empower officers to brutalize road users. He highlighted that the Act provides for legal proceedings and penalties for offenders, stressing that law enforcement agencies must operate within the bounds of the law.

Oga called for accountability, investigation, and a more humane approach by law enforcement agencies to maintain public trust and confidence.
