Lawmaker Calls for EFCC Probe of Cubana Chief Priest

Chinedu Ogah, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State, has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, for alleged money laundering and the source of his wealth. Ogah's demand came after Cubana Chief Priest publicly criticized Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru regarding the lack of development in the state since Nwifuru took office in 2023.

Ogah questioned Cubana Chief Priest's background and his right to challenge the governor, asking about his financial activities and how he amassed his wealth at a young age. The lawmaker also accused Cubana Chief Priest of undermining the governor and linked the situation to broader political dynamics in the South-East.

Additionally, Ogah alleged that Cubana Chief Priest had previously arranged for hoodlums to remove items from a stadium. Cubana Chief Priest had recently withdrawn from the APC House of Representatives race in Imo State after discussions with Governor Hope Uzodimma regarding party zoning.
