Senator Fadeyi Donates N20M to Osun Rainstorm Victims

Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing the Osun Central Senatorial District, donated N20 million to assist victims affected by a recent rainstorm that devastated private and public properties in Osogbo, Osun State. The storm, which occurred on Saturday, caused extensive damage, particularly in areas such as Awosuru, Igbona, and Ogooluwa, affecting residential buildings, market stalls, and essential services like schools and police stations.

Fadeyi, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment, expressed deep sadness over the destruction, which left many families displaced. He reiterated his commitment to providing support and called for immediate engagement with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to facilitate additional assistance.

Fadeyi urged residents to adopt preventive measures, such as proper building practices and improved drainage systems, to reduce the risk of future disasters. He commended President Bola Tinubu's initiative to establish a special disaster intervention fund, highlighting the government's proactive approach to disaster preparedness.
