Lawmaker Drags Nigerian Military to Court Over Alleged Coup Attempt

A member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Ajibola, has taken the Nigerian military to court over an alleged coup attempt to remove President Tinubu. Ajibola, a lawyer and former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association in Ilesa, filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Osogbo, arguing that the military has no constitutional authority to intervene in civilian rule.

He seeks a permanent ban on military takeovers to safeguard Nigeria's democracy.
