Senator Ekpenyong Secures N40M Grant for Small Businesses

Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing Cross River South Senatorial District, facilitated a N40 million grant aimed at supporting 400 small businesses in the region, with each business receiving N100,000. The grant disbursement event took place on Thursday in Calabar, organized in collaboration with the Small Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria.

This initiative is part of a continuous effort to empower entrepreneurs, especially women and youth, across the senatorial district. Senator Ekpenyong emphasized that the program is designed to help beneficiaries expand their businesses, improve products, and create additional income sources for families and communities.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting its significance for grassroots economic growth. Nsa Effiom and Benedicta Itayip, beneficiaries of the grant, commended the senator for ensuring that the empowerment program reaches ordinary constituents.

Senator Ekpenyong assured that there are plans for even larger empowerment initiatives in the near future, targeting people across seven local government areas in Cross River South.
