Lawyer Calls National Assembly 'Political Bandits' Over Protest

Activist lawyer Tuesdai Adeyanju has publicly condemned the National Assembly, referring to its members as "political bandits" in response to a recent incident where police used teargas against protesters. Adeyanju expressed his disapproval during an interview, highlighting that the National Assembly does not act in the interest of Nigerians.

He noted that while the Assembly supported the police's actions against pro-government protests, they did not respond similarly to anti-government demonstrations. Adeyanju emphasized that peaceful protest is a fundamental human right and should not be met with force.

He criticized the current leadership of the National Assembly, particularly targeting Akpabio, suggesting that they lack the character to demand the right things for the country. He concluded by reiterating his stance that the Assembly is not aligned with the interests of the Nigerian populace.
