Agboyi-Ketu Food Bank Initiative Supports Vulnerable Residents

The Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State announced that its Adetola Food Bank initiative is a sustained social welfare program designed to support vulnerable residents, not an electoral inducement. This statement was made by Chief Press Secretary Moses Akande on Saturday, addressing public reactions to a report on the distribution of food items to 1,000 households.

The initiative, introduced by Executive Chairman Adetola Abubakar, is part of a broader social safety net aimed at aiding elderly citizens, widows, low-income families, and persons with disabilities across the council's seven wards. The council emphasized that the Adetola Food Bank is an ongoing commitment, not a one-off event or politically motivated gesture.

The second edition, termed Adetola Food Bank 2.0, expands on this commitment to ensure no vulnerable resident is left behind. Additionally, the council noted that food relief is just one aspect of its comprehensive developmental agenda, which includes infrastructure upgrades, community security, youth empowerment, education, and primary healthcare support.
