Edo Lawmaker Advocates for Engaged Legislation Beyond Debates

Anamero Deker, a lawmaker representing the Esan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency in Edo State, stated that legislative efforts must go beyond mere debates within the National Assembly. During an interaction with journalists in Abuja, Deker stressed the importance of maintaining close contact with constituents to effectively address issues affecting their communities.

He pointed out that lawmakers who remain distant from their constituents risk weakening their political support base. Deker highlighted the significance of youth empowerment and education as critical issues that need to be prioritized in legislative work.

He noted that financial barriers often prevent students from sitting for examinations, which hinders national development. This statement was issued on Sunday, March 15, through his special assistant on media and public affairs, Benjamin Atu.
