Nigerian Senate Order Paper: Key Bills on July 7, 2026

On Tuesday, 7th July 2026, the Nigerian Senate scheduled the following business for its sitting:
Five bills were listed for First Reading — the formal introduction stage. These included two separate amendment bills to the Federal University of Technology Act, the Child Online Access Protection Bill 2026, a bill to repeal and re-enact the National Universities Commission Act, and a bill to amend the Federal Medical Centres Act.
Two bills were scheduled for Second Reading — the stage where lawmakers debate the general principles of a bill. The first proposes establishing a teaching hospital for the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, Kaduna State. The second seeks to repeal the existing Public Complaints Commission Act and reconstitute the Commission as an independent National Ombudsman Institution.
