Nigerian Senate Order Paper July 23 2026: Bills, Reports & Key Votes

The Nigerian Senate's agenda for July 23, 2026 covered two committee reports, three bills awaiting Senate concurrence, and two committee public hearings.

On committee reports, senators were set to receive a joint report from the Committees on FERMA and National Security & Intelligence on an earlier motion calling for the urgent rehabilitation of the Onyagede-Ogobia road off the Otukpo-Oweto Highway in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State. A second report, from the Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, dealt with the confirmation of Mr. Lamido Yuguda Abubakar as Chairman of the AMCON Board.

Three bills that had already passed the House of Representatives were listed for Senate concurrence. These were: a bill to amend the law governing the number of judges in the FCT High Court; a bill to repeal and re-enact the National Inland Waterways Authority Act; and a bill to amend the Tobacco Control Act of 2015.

Two committee sessions were also scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on the same day — a public hearing by the ICT and Cyber Security Committee, and a meeting of the Drugs and Narcotics Committee — both at the Senate New Building in Abuja.
