Nigerian Senate Order Paper June 9 2026: Key Bills and Motions

The Nigerian Senate sat on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, with the following business on its agenda.

A motion sponsored by Senator Sunday Marshall Katung (Kaduna South), with nine co-sponsors, called on the Federal Government and relevant ministries to urgently revive Nigeria's textile industry, particularly in Kaduna and Kano. The motion noted that Nigeria's textile sector once ranked third-largest in Africa but has since collapsed, with the country now importing over 99 percent of its textile needs.

Four committee meetings were also scheduled for the day and the days immediately following.
