Leo Stan Ekeh Launches Tech Scholarships for 1,000 Students

On February 22, 2023, Leo Stan Ekeh, the chairman of Zinox Group, marked his 70th birthday by announcing a scholarship initiative for 1,000 indigent Nigerian students pursuing computer science at federal universities. Ekeh emphasized the importance of nurturing new technological talent to support Nigeria's economic growth and technological independence.

The initiative is set to begin in September 2023, with the first batch of students expected to earn first-class degrees. Ekeh, who has been a prominent figure in Nigeria's tech industry for over 40 years, expressed his commitment to mentoring and providing resources to these students, particularly those from low-income families.

He also highlighted the need for quality tech-savvy individuals to drive Nigeria's future, especially in sectors like oil, agriculture, and manufacturing. In addition to the scholarship, Ekeh's group plans to produce 10,000 female tech experts over the next decade.

He aims to publish a book detailing his contributions and experiences by the last quarter of 2027.
