Makarfi Urges Unity Among Nigerian Leaders for Progress

Senator Ahmed Makarfi, former Governor of Kaduna and ex-Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee, called on political leaders and public office holders in Nigeria to unite and tackle the nation's challenges. This appeal was made in a statement issued in Kaduna on Sunday, coinciding with his 70th birthday celebration.

Makarfi expressed that the issues facing Nigeria are not insurmountable if leaders show the necessary will and commitment. He thanked President Bola Tinubu and various political, traditional, and religious leaders for their congratulatory messages on his milestone birthday, which he described as a privilege and a blessing from Allah.

Makarfi acknowledged the overwhelming volume of goodwill messages he received, which made it difficult to respond individually. He conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to all well-wishers and emphasized that the positive messages would motivate him to continue contributing to Nigeria's unity, peace, and progress.
