The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has announced an extension of the deadline for individuals to file their annual income tax returns to April 14, 2026. This decision, communicated by the agency's head of corporate communications, Subair, is intended to provide taxpayers with additional time to complete their filings accurately and avoid potential errors.

The LIRS urges individuals to treat their tax compliance as a routine responsibility. Furthermore, Subair emphasized that tax returns must be submitted electronically via the agency's eTax platform, as manual filing has been completely discontinued.
