Nigerian Contractors Accuse Government of Diverting Funds for Tinubu's Re-Election

Local contractors under the Indigenous Contractor Association of Nigeria (AICAN) have accused the Nigerian government of diverting funds totaling trillions of naira meant for project payments to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election plans. The contractors protested in Abuja, claiming that the government failed to honor payment obligations for projects already completed.

AICAN's president, Jackson Ifeanyi Nwosu, expressed frustration over delayed payments and accused government officials of betrayal. The contractors highlighted discrepancies in payment approvals and alleged that over N230 billion owed to them remains unpaid, raising concerns of corruption and financial mismanagement.
