Lokpobiri and Fubara Launch Coating Plant in Rivers State

On Friday, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara inaugurated a state-of-the-art Specialty Protective Coatings and Paints Manufacturing Plant built by the indigenous Solewant Group in Alode community, Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State. Lokpobiri described the investment as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s industrialization and local content development, highlighting the plant's potential to serve not only Nigeria but the entire African continent.

He praised Solewant Group's expansion into Namibia and noted that the new manufacturing capability would address challenges in Nigeria's oil production, particularly concerning ageing pipelines. Governor Fubara, represented by his Chief of Staff, Sunny Ewuhle, expressed gratitude to Solewant for choosing Rivers State as its industrial base and reaffirmed the state government's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for business growth and sustainable development.
