AGF Takes Over Mike Ozekhome's Case Involving London Property Corruption Charges

The Attorney General of the Federation has applied for three criminal charges against Nigerian senior advocate Mike Ozekhome at the FCT High Court, including forgery and corruption allegations related to a London property acquisition. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had filed charges against Ozekhome for allegedly receiving a property through corrupt means using forged documents.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Rotimi Oyedepo, announced that the AGF, Lateef Fagbemi, would prosecute the case in collaboration with the ICPC for a fair trial. The case involves allegations that Ozekhome received a house in London from former FCT Minister Jeremiah Useni, with purported fraudulent transactions.

The ICPC accused Ozekhome of using a falsified Nigerian passport to support his ownership claim of the London property. The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned proceedings related to the final forfeiture of the London property linked to Useni to February 25, 2025, following an application by the Code of Conduct Bureau seeking an interim forfeiture order.
