Éric Chelle Names 31 Players for Olympic Eagles Camp
Head Coach Éric Chelle has invited 31 players to the U23 National Team, Olympic Eagles, for their upcoming U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the U23 National Team of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The matches are scheduled for November 13 at TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi and November 17 at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo.
The invited squad includes four goalkeepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders, and ten forwards. Nigeria, which has previously won Olympic football gold in 1996, silver in 2008, and bronze in 2016, has not participated in the Men's Football Tournament of the Olympics in the past decade.
The Olympic Eagles received a bye into this second round, while DR Congo advanced by defeating Mauritania. All players are to report to AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on October 25.
