LSSTF Distributes Sports Equipment to 1,020 Schools

On May 21, the Lagos State Sports Trust Fund (LSSTF) officially presented sports equipment to 1,020 public primary schools across Lagos State. The event took place at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, with LSSTF Chairman Wahid Oshodi emphasizing the initiative as part of the state government's commitment to developing grassroots sports.

Oshodi noted that the donation reflects the government's dedication to the holistic growth of children through sports, which serves as a tool for education, discipline, health, and social cohesion. The equipment distributed includes items for football, athletics, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, and chess.

The LSSTF aims to bridge the gap in public institutions lacking basic sports equipment and to create opportunities for talent development. Oshodi expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat for their unwavering support for grassroots sports development.

The initiative also calls on local government education authorities to ensure the effective use of the equipment to discover and nurture talent in schools.
