Lagos Security Trust Fund Enhances Police Efficiency

On a recent visit to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund headquarters in Ikeja, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu acknowledged the significant role the fund has played in enhancing police efficiency during his command. He highlighted the support received from the fund, which has facilitated the operations of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) by providing essential resources such as 2,000 operational vehicles, armored personnel carriers, and helicopters.

Disu noted that the Lagos State Security Trust Fund has eased logistical challenges for the police, allowing officers to focus on their duties. He called for continued collaboration to strengthen the operational capacity of the Lagos State Police Command, particularly in light of the increasing population and security pressures.

Ayo Ogunsan, the Executive Secretary and CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, praised Disu's leadership style, which balances professionalism and public trust. He also mentioned the challenges posed by donor fatigue affecting contributions to the fund, urging for stronger support to sustain operations.
