A relative of Lt. Samson Haruna, a Nigerian Army officer, posted a rare photo of him and his mother, shedding light on their relationship.

Haruna's life took a tragic turn after sustaining severe burn injuries in a domestic fire incident involving his wife at the Wellington Bassei Barracks on September 22, 2025. He was evacuated to Uyo Teaching Hospital for medical attention but sadly passed away on October 6, 2025.

The Nigerian Army expressed condolences to his family and promised a transparent investigation. Reports also suggest that there were altercations between Haruna and his wife prior to the incident.
