Fatima Ganduj Launches National Resource Center for Disabilities

Fatima Ganduj, daughter of former Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduj, announced the establishment of a National Resource Center for individuals with sensory impairments.

This initiative aims to improve education and entrepreneurship opportunities for the blind and deaf, building on the success of the Tudun Maliki Special School in Kano, which has trained approximately 1,000 students annually over the past ten years. The project intends to extend its reach beyond the northern region of Nigeria, tapping into international knowledge and resources.

During a documentary premiere in Abuja, Fatima expressed optimism about the positive impact this center will have on the lives of individuals with disabilities. The event gathered experts in disability education, government officials, alumni, and students from the Tudun Maliki Special School.

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduj praised the initiative, calling for collaboration among northern governors and federal authorities to support people with disabilities and address their needs effectively.
