Let’s Talk Human Plans National Resource Center for PWDs

During the 10th anniversary celebration of Let’s Talk Human, Fatima Ganduj and Abiola Ajumobi revealed plans to establish a National Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria. The organization, founded by Fatima Ganduj, daughter of former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduj, has invested in technology and gadgets to enhance education for blind and deaf individuals, impacting approximately 1,000 students annually since its inception in 2015. The event, held in Abuja, highlighted the success of the Tudun Maliki Special School in Kano, which has trained top students and teachers.

Fatima expressed optimism that the new center would have a ripple effect beyond the northern region, tapping into international knowledge and resources. Former Kano State Governor Dr.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduj praised the initiative, urging northern governors to partner with federal and state governments to support similar programs. Dr.

Bernard M. Doro, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, emphasized the importance of designing assistive devices with the needs of people with disabilities in mind.
