Ganduje Advocates for Investment in PWD Education

Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State and immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), called for greater investment in the education of persons with disabilities (PWDs) to combat the issue of begging in Northern Nigeria.

Speaking in Abuja during the premiere of a documentary marking the 10th anniversary of the organization "Let’s Talk Human," Ganduje highlighted the importance of technological gadgets in making education more accessible for individuals with physical challenges. He criticized the neglect of disabled persons in Northern Nigeria, noting the prevalence of beggars sleeping on bridges and roads.

Ganduje urged the government and philanthropists to collaborate in developing educational programs and assistive devices tailored for people with disabilities. Dr.

Bernard M. Doro, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, commended Ganduje’s initiative, emphasizing the need for inclusive design in technology.

Fatima Ganduje and Abiola Ajumobi, founders of "Let’s Talk Human," aim to empower 1,000 beneficiaries annually until 2027.
