Madonna and Shakira to Headline World Cup Halftime Show

Madonna and Shakira are set to headline the inaugural Super Bowl-style halftime show at the FIFA World Cup Final, scheduled for July 19 in New Jersey. This historic performance will take place during the conclusion of the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The show is expected to last between 11 and 15 minutes, adhering to FIFA regulations that limit halftime intervals. FIFA President Gianni Infantino described this initiative as a milestone for the sport, aiming to enhance the World Cup experience beyond the pitch.

Shakira, known for her hit "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" from the 2010 World Cup, is anticipated to release a new official tournament song titled "Dai Dai," featuring Nigerian artist Burna Boy. Madonna, the best-selling female music artist of all time, is preparing to release her 15th studio album.

The halftime show will be curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay and aims to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund initiative, which seeks to raise $100 million to expand educational access for children worldwide.
