Ondo Magistrates Suspend Strike Over Autonomy and Welfare Demands

The magistrates in Ondo State, represented by the coalition of magistrates, have decided to suspend their strike that began in early January 2026. The strike was initiated to demand financial autonomy and better welfare conditions, resulting in the closure and rescheduling of court cases throughout the state.

Following several meetings and agreements with the executive arm of the government, the coalition has agreed to withdraw their services and resume work immediately.
