Kaduna Judicial Workers End Strike After Government Talks

The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) announced the suspension of its week-long strike after productive talks with the Kaduna State Government. The negotiations took place on February 23, 2026, involving a high-level government delegation that met with the state executive committee of JUSUN.

Key issues discussed included the implementation of financial autonomy for the state judiciary and the settlement of outstanding salary arrears dating back to April and May 2021, as well as adjustments related to the new minimum wage. The Attorney General of Kaduna State, Dr.

Jame Kanyip, described the meeting as fruitful, reflecting Governor Uba Sani's commitment to fostering industrial harmony and enhancing productivity within public service. As a result of the agreement, judicial activities across Kaduna State are expected to resume normal operations, restoring judicial services that had been halted during the strike.
