Northern Governors Condemn Maiduguri Bomb Blasts

Following the bomb blasts in Maiduguri, which reportedly occurred almost simultaneously at various locations including the university gate and a market roundabout, Northern Governors, under the leadership of Inuwa Yahaya, the chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. In a statement, Yahaya condemned the attacks as senseless acts of violence aimed at instilling fear and undermining the fragile peace in the northeastern region.

He extended condolences to the government and people of Borno State, particularly to families who lost loved ones. Yahaya also sympathized with the injured individuals receiving treatment in hospitals and praised the prompt response of security agencies in managing the aftermath of the blasts.

The governors reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with federal government security agencies to combat terrorism and criminal activities threatening regional peace and stability. They urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and supportive of security efforts while emphasizing the need for justice for the victims.
