Northern Governors Condemn Borno Bombings as Cowardly

On Tuesday, Inuwa Yahaya, the chairman of the Northern State Governor Forum and the governor of Gombe State, condemned the triple bombings that occurred in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Monday evening at approximately 7:02 PM. The blasts, which took place near the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and the Monday Market area, resulted in several deaths and numerous injuries, causing panic throughout the city.

Yahaya characterized the attacks as barbaric and a cowardly act aimed at instilling fear and disrupting the fragile peace in the northeastern region. He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and commended the swift response of the Federal Fire Service, led by Moham Kafaran, who deployed emergency teams to assess the situation.

Yahaya reaffirmed the commitment of northern governors to work with federal security agencies to address terrorism and security challenges, urging residents to remain calm and vigilant while cooperating with security forces in ongoing investigations.
