PDP to Decide Makinde's Fate Amid APM Alliance

Umar Sani, the former spokesman for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council, addressed the situation regarding Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State. Sani clarified that Makinde has not officially left the PDP, despite announcing an alliance with the All Progressives Movement (APM).

This alliance was made public as part of Makinde's presidential ambitions. Sani emphasized that while there have been discussions about the alliance, Makinde has not made a categorical statement regarding his defection from the PDP to the APM.

He noted that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP will ultimately decide Makinde's fate concerning the alliance with the APM. Sani also mentioned that Makinde's role as the chairman of the Forum of Governors does not give him the authority to make unilateral decisions about party affiliations, and any implications of his actions will be addressed by the NWC.
