PDP Rejects Alliance with APM, Accuses Makinde of Deception

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) publicly disowned any alliance with the All Progressives Movement (APM) during a press briefing at its national headquarters in Wadata Plaza, Abuja, on Thursday. PDP accused Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of attempting to mislead the public by creating a false impression of political relevance through an alleged coalition.

The party's statement, signed by its national publicity secretary Jungudo Haruna, clarified that PDP did not enter into any alliance or coalition arrangements with APM. PDP warned individuals or groups claiming to represent it at an event in Ibadan lacked authorization.

The party criticized Makinde for trying to camouflage his political intent and for allegedly sponsoring propaganda to distort the Supreme Court judgment for political purposes. PDP reaffirmed its commitment to remain united and prepared for the 2027 general elections, despite ongoing controversies, and questioned why Makinde did not purchase nomination forms for the party's structure.
