Makinde Willing to Sacrifice for Abducted Pupils' Freedom

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde stated his readiness to sacrifice himself for the freedom of abducted pupils and teachers during a protest led by social media activist Martin Vincent Ots, known as VeryDarkMan, at his private residence in Ikolaba, Ibadan. Makinde assured that his administration is fully committed to the security and release of the victims, emphasizing that Oyo State will not become another Chibok.

He disclosed that security operations have involved sacrifices, including the loss of military personnel. Makinde made an emotional appeal, stating he would sacrifice himself to ensure the children live good lives, regardless of his age.

He acknowledged the delicate nature of the rescue mission and the need for caution to avoid additional casualties. The governor reiterated that the state government would not shift blame onto security agencies and highlighted the establishment of the Amotekun Corps to strengthen local security.

Activist Ots criticized the lack of public information regarding the victims' welfare and called for concrete assurances from the government regarding ongoing rescue efforts.
