Makinde Urges Police Action on One-Month Abduction Case

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appealed for deeper collaboration with the Nigerian Police Force as the abduction of pupils and a teacher from Baptist Nursery Primary School in Yawota, Esiel Oriir Local Government Area marks one month. During a visit from Deputy Inspector General of Police Olatoy Fayoad to Ibadan, Makinde described the abduction as a traumatic incident and reiterated the government's commitment to working closely with federal security agencies until the victims are safely released.

He acknowledged the significant security challenges faced by the police due to the vast territory of Oyo State, which complicates surveillance efforts. Makinde commended the Inspector General of Police for establishing a violent crime unit and expressed appreciation for the police's ongoing efforts.

Fayoad assured that the police remain committed to securing the release of the abducted individuals and emphasized the need for intensified security measures across Oyo State to prevent further criminal activities.
