Makinde Critiques Tinubu's Economic Reforms in Ogun

On Monday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, represented by Hon. Babatunde Tijani, criticized President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms, claiming they have worsened the hardship faced by Nigerians.

He argued that the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira were executed without sufficient measures to alleviate their impact on the populace. Makinde called for a comprehensive reset of Nigeria's economy, security, and governance, stating that many citizens can no longer afford basic necessities.

He highlighted that the government should have prioritized citizens' welfare before implementing such reforms. Makinde pointed out that the simultaneous introduction of these policies has placed additional economic pressure on Nigerians, leading to a significant decline in living standards.

APM Chairman Sanyaolu Abayomi also spoke at the event, urging Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and support leaders focused on addressing economic and security challenges.
